Event Description: Discover the latest OSHA requirements concerning bloodborne pathogens and exposure control. You will also learn the details of the latest Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines for dentistry, barriers, epidemiology, and principles of sterilization. OSHA's annual training requirements will be satisfied except for office specifics.

Dr. Valerie Murrah has had an exciting career as an oral and maxillofacial pathologist at multiple institutions, including the University of Minnesota, the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Emory University School of Medicine and the University of North Carolina where she is currently the Chair of the Division of Diagnostic Sciences and Director of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology Laboratory. She also holds joint appointments in the Departments of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Otolaryngology in the School of Medicine. Dr. Murrah served as the forensic odontologist for the Fulton County Medical Examiner during the time she was in Atlanta. Valerie has the distinctions of having been elected as the first woman president of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and the first woman president of the American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology. Dr. Murrah has been involved in Infection Control since the beginning of the AIDS epidemic and currently serves as the Lead Scientific Officer for Infection Control at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry.
