Event Description: The optimal treatment of breast cancer patients involves a multidisciplinary team of physicians. Due to the inherent time constraints placed on healthcare providers who treat breast cancer, it is a challenge to provide and attend educational opportunities that bring together medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists as well as radiologists, pathologists, nurses and allied health staff. This symposium aims to address this educational need by providing participants with the latest developments in multidisciplinary fields that treat and care for breast cancer patients.
Keynote Speaker Spotlight: Fabian M. Johnston, MD, MHS, FACS
The 21st Annual Breast Cancer Conference is honored to welcome Fabian M. Johnston, MD, MHS, FACS, Chair of the Department of Surgery at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, as a featured keynote speaker. Dr. Johnston is a nationally recognized surgical oncologist, researcher, and leader in advancing equitable, patient-centered cancer care, with particular expertise in palliative care and improving outcomes for vulnerable populations.
In his keynote presentation, "Palliative Care and Disparities in Breast Cancer Patients," Dr. Johnston will explore the critical role of palliative care throughout the breast cancer continuum and examine the disparities that affect access to supportive services among underserved and underrepresented populations.Post-Conference Gala
Following the 21st Annual Breast Cancer Conference, this special fundraising gala will take place on Friday, January 15, 2027, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Benton Convention Center.
This elegant event brings together healthcare professionals, breast cancer survivors, advocates, community leaders, and supporters who share a commitment to improving access to lifesaving breast cancer screening services for women throughout our region.
