Event Description: This presentation will provide an overview of the unproven stem cell therapy industry and explain the impact the industry has on patients, family and society. The presenter will argue that while regulatory approaches to quell the unproven market have been implemented, little has been done to improve communication to address patient misunderstandings about the safety and efficacy of unproven stem cell therapies. The presenter will provide practical steps to improve patient understanding surrounding unproven products through empathic communication that can be provided by any clinician.
