Target Audience
Foreign language medical Interpreters who are interested in taking national medical interpretation certification examinations.
Event Description
This level has self-paced modules, followed by a short Zoom meeting with the group and instructor. You will have access to the modules one week before the Zoom meeting with the instructor. The modules are required to be completed before the Zoom meetings. Note: If you do not complete the modules and attend the Zoom meeting, you will not be able to attend future levels. No Prerequisite Registration Deadline: May 20 Access to Course Modules: May 20 Live Webinar: May 28 This workshop compares/contrasts the two main medical interpreter certification exams currently offered at the national level (CCHI and IMIA’s National Board) and includes a review of sample written exams from both.
Objectives
- Compare and contrast the two-national medical interpreter certification exams.
- Identify what is tested to develop a personal study plan to qualify and sit for the exams.
- Review cost and where and when exams are administered.
- Identify and understand educational and language prerequisites and requirements for re-certification.
