Target Audience

This workshop will be beneficial to nurses, social workers, child-life specialists, counselors, chaplains, nursing students, residents and other care providers or interested professionals.

Event Description

Grief is a deeply personal, often isolating journey. This workshop is designed to equip healthcare providers and support teams with practical tools, trauma-informed communication skills, and self-care strategies. Participants will explore ways to compassionately navigate patient loss while avoiding compassion fatigue and engage in the hands-on creation of various keepsakes.

Objectives

  1. Demonstrate how to create tangible memories to comfort grieving families.
  2. Recognize the impact of grief on various healthcare disciplines.
  3. Explore ways to remember, while letting go.
  4. Explore self-care techniques.
  5. Describe how families experienced support after a loss.
