This workshop will be beneficial to nurses, social workers, child-life specialists, counselors, chaplains, nursing students, residents and other care providers or interested professionals.
Event Description
Grief is a deeply personal, often isolating journey. This workshop is designed to equip healthcare providers and support teams with practical tools, trauma-informed communication skills, and self-care strategies. Participants will explore ways to compassionately navigate patient loss while avoiding compassion fatigue and engage in the hands-on creation of various keepsakes.
Objectives
- Demonstrate how to create tangible memories to comfort grieving families.
- Recognize the impact of grief on various healthcare disciplines.
- Explore ways to remember, while letting go.
- Explore self-care techniques.
- Describe how families experienced support after a loss.
Session Credits
