Event Description
This training is an evidence informed CE activity that equips nurses, CNA's, doulas, social workers, and allied health professionals with practical, bedside appropriate tools to support women on medical bedrest. Participants learn gentle movement, breathing, and relaxation techniques that promote comfort, reduce anxiety, and enhance patient experience within a hospital setting. The training is informed by long-standing clinical practice and published research demonstrating improved emotional well-being among high-risk maternity patients. After completing this training, participants will be able to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to support patient care.
Objectives
- Identify common physical and emotional challenges associated with medical bed rest.
- Explain how gentle movement, breathwork, and relaxation support patient comfort and coping.
- Demonstrate safe, bedside appropriate techniques.
- Determine applicable interventions for high-risk and medically complex patient populations.
- Describe how to integrate supportive mind-body techniques into interdisciplinary care settings.
