Target Audience

Registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in vaccine administration, patient education, or public health.

Event Description

This program provides pediatric healthcare professionals with a comprehensive overview of trauma-informed care principles and their application in clinical and community settings. Participants will explore the physical, emotional, and behavioral impacts of trauma on children and adolescents, while gaining strategies to promote safety, trust, and healing. Through evidence?based guidance and practical approaches, this session will equip providers to recognize trauma responses, reduce re?traumatization, and support resilience in young patients and their families.

Objectives

  1. Identify common signs, symptoms, and manifestations of trauma in pediatric patients.
  2. Describe how trauma affects physical, emotional, and developmental health.
  3. Apply trauma-informed communication and care strategies to create safe, supportive interactions that promote healing and reduce the risk of re-traumatization in clinical practice.
