Event Description

The goal of this conference is to enhance the health care professional's understanding of current management techniques in providing care to the high-risk infant. Objectives

  1. Apply Eat, Sleep, Console (ESC) principles to assess and support physiologic stability, regulation, and family engagement in infants with neonatal abstinence or withdrawal-related symptoms.
  2. Review evidence-based nursing interventions to support the stability and development of extremely low birth weight infants.
  3. Identify key resources and strategies to support families and high-risk infants during the transition from NICU to home.
  4. Recognize the impact of grief and loss on families and healthcare staff in the NICU and demonstrate supportive communication strategies that promote compassionate, family-centered care.
