Event Description: The optimal treatment of breast cancer patients involves a multidisciplinary team of physicians. Due to the inherent time constraints placed on healthcare providers who treat breast cancer, it is a challenge to provide and attend educational opportunities that bring together medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists as well as radiologists, pathologists, nurses and allied health staff. This symposium aims to address this educational need by providing participants with the latest developments in multidisciplinary fields that treat and care for breast cancer patients.

Objectives

Understand the difference between Contrast enhanced mammography vs. MRI vs. Ultrasound.

Recognize the implications of the pathologic difference between atypical and malignant breast lesions.

Utilize newest guidelines to make informed decisions about when to use genetic panel testing in the diagnosis and management of breast cancer patients.

Describe the management of estrogen receptor negative and node positive breast cancer patients' treatment.

Discuss the surgical management of breast cancer in young women.

Integrate oncofertility considerations into the care of breast cancer patients of reproductive age.

Assess emerging techniques in breast reconstruction and their applicability to individual patient cases.
