Event Description: The Critical Care Symposium will explore the latest advancements in the stabilization and management of critically ill patients as well as post arrest scenarios. This knowledge-based conference will include the most recent clinical practice guidelines and best practices in critical care medicine.
Objectives
Identify critical time elements and interventions delivered by the multidisciplinary team to manage post cardiac arrest syndrome.
Determine a management plan for the unstable patient in the first few hours of care in the critical care setting.
Identify the indications for intubation and the essential concepts of mechanical ventilation.
Discuss advanced ventilator strategies for treatment of ARDS.
Discuss the physiological basis for drugs used to support hemodynamics.
Discuss the role of antiarrhythmic agents in the management of cardiac arrhythmias.
Review current practice and new recommendations in Sepsis treatment.
Review clinical evidence and guidelines in emergent seizure management.
