Event Description:
This session will provide an in-depth look at HIV PrEP as a highly effective tool for preventing HIV transmission. The discussion will cover medication management to prevent HIV transmission, including eligibility criteria, regimen selection, and monitoring those on treatment over time.
Objectives
Discuss epidemiologic data surrounding risk for HIV based on sexual orientation, gender, race/ethnicity, and geography.
Identify individuals who should be considered candidates for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP).
Explain differences between available regimens, factors that guide medication selection, and ongoing monitoring once PrEP is initiated.
